Herbie Uses Magic

Related:

Herbie uses magic in early stories, but then, not until the final few stories, when Herbie needs to learn magic because he has lost his lollipop-based powers.

Herbie's early magic in Forbidden Worlds was pretty traditional, dealing with spirits. In the first two issues of Herbie, his magic is clever and funny. Then, except for a single rope trick, Herbie gives up magic until his last two issues, when Herbie's magic is as lackluster as his performance in superhero school. In the final Herbie story, Herbie uses magic to return to story-book land. How did that go? Oh yes, ALLEGA-POOP. Magic school, H.P. Ring a bell?
